Weighing between 950 grams and 1500 grams, all the four are hale and hearty at the NIMS hospital, Wandoor, in Malappuram district of Kerala the southernmost Indian state. Medical authorities vouch that quadruplets are a rare phenomenon—once in 7 million deliveries. Shameema (23) wife of Chathakkad Pookodan Firoze gave birth to the quadruplets in her second delivery. Scanning reports had revealed that Shameema carried quadruplets. Henceforth she stayed back in the hospital and was given special care.
