WHAT HAPPENED?Mbappe posted a sequence of photos of himself when he was younger, wearing Madrid clothing, from a visit to the club’s facilities over ten years ago, along with a message in Spanish, English, and French. He got to know Cristiano Ronaldo, and one of the photos shows a team shot that was taken during the 2012–13 season, when Mbappe was 13 going on 14.

Now that Mbappe has signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid after leaving Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent, the sport’s biggest secret is finally over. However, Mbappe’s social media post was the only source of his instant reaction upon finalising the move, as Madrid’s statement announcing the news was limited to just 23 words.

FUTURE PLANS FOR MBAPPE?
Mbappe will soon have the opportunity to work alongside Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior to further terrify Real Madrid, who won the Champions League (again) on Saturday night. But France’s Euro 2024 campaign begins first. Their first Group D match, against Austria in Dusseldorf on June 17, will come after warm-up matches against Luxembourg and Canada in the coming days.
