A group of hungry lions spotted a baby hippopotamus exploring on its own in the wild, and without any hesitation, one of the male lions rushed to attack the young animal. However, the baby hippopotamus was not an easy target, and it put up a fierce fight. Eventually, the lion was able to bring the baby hippo down and started to feast on it.
Suddenly, another male lion appeared to assist in tearing away the flesh of the prey. However, things took a turn for the worse when the hippopotamus made a surprise U-turn and attacked the lions. The lions were caught off guard and one of them was bitten on the head, which led to the entire pride becoming panicked and timid.
Despite their efforts, the pride of about 12 lions was unable to take down the adult hippopotamus, and one of them was seriously injured and died the following day. The incident served as a reminder that hippos are not to be underestimated, even by the fiercest predators like lions.
