Gan Da, affectionately known as Darling, embraced her newfound freedom at the Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT) refuge on her inaugural day of liberation. Delighting in an array of treats, she gracefully acclimated to her fresh existence devoid of chains.

Gan Da, a 40-year-old Asian elephant, had dedicated the majority of her life to toiling in a trekking саmр, enduring һагѕһ training methods designed for providing rides to tourists.

The Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT), managing the elephant refuge, secured sponsorship from an Australian woman with the intent to retire Gan Da from the tourism industry.

Thanks to this sponsorship, Gan Da was rescued, granting her the chance to taste true freedom. Her chains were unshackled, and she was transported to the sanctuary, where the staff warmly welcomed her and guided her through her new home.
