Newborn Twin Baby Girls аЬапdoпed and Mistaken for Puppies by a Group of Friends

Twin newborn girls were found аЬапdoпed after a passer-by mistook them for puppies.

Officers took the babies to һoѕріtаɩ after being called by a group of women who had found the tiny tots with their umbilical cords still attached in the city of Curitiba, in the southern Brazilian state of Parana.

Medics found the babies had been born at full term but аЬапdoпed shortly after birth by their mother.

One weighed in at 6lb (2.75 kilograms) while the second girl was 3.7lb (1.7 kilograms).

Police spokesman Guilherme Zasevski Almeida said officers believe the babies were аЬапdoпed in an area by someone in a white van before they sped off.

The twins currently remain in һoѕріtаɩ and once they started gaining weight will be moved to a care facility so they can be put up for adoption.

һoѕріtаɩ staff have given the twins names – Eloa, which means God, and Heloisa, which means “wаггіoг woman”.
