Previously, Transfermarkt assessed Real Madrid’s squad value at 1.04 billion euros. But since Mbappe joined Bernabeu, the “Los Blancos” squad has increased in value to 1.22 billion euros.
Mbappe is just waiting for his debut match with Real Madrid.
This figure helps Real Madrid rise to second place in the list of the most expensive squads in the world currently, according to Transfermarkt’s assessment. The Spanish royal club surpasses Arsenal (1.16 billion euros).
However, Real Madrid’s squad value still falls below that of Man City. Specifically, the Manchester-based club’s squad is valued at 1.32 billion euros. This indicates that “The Citizens” still have better squad depth compared to Real Madrid.
In the 2024 summer transfer window, Real Madrid not only focused on signing Mbappe but also considered upgrading the left flank, as defender Ferland Mendy did not perform as expected. Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich) is the primary target pursued by “Los Blancos”.
Returning to Mbappe, he usually wears the number 7 shirt at the club level and the number 10 for the national team, but both of these shirt numbers at Real Madrid are currently owned by Vinicius and Modric. Le Parisien (France) reports that Real Madrid will give Mbappe the number 9 shirt, which has been vacant since Benzema left.
However, this is only Mbappe’s temporary shirt number. When the 2024/25 season ends, coinciding with Modric’s contract expiration with Real Madrid, the striker born in 1998 will reclaim the number 10 shirt from Modric.
