With determination, the leopard climbs up the tree and successfully drags down the python, enjoying a satisfying meal.
According to Outdoor Photo, a leopard came across a dead African python on a tree branch, but pulling down the 4-meter-long carcass proved to be a challenging task.
The leopard decided to climb the tree, simultaneously tearing into the python’s body as it moved.
After a while, the large carcass of the python got stuck between the branches, making the leopard’s efforts seemingly in vain.
However, driven by determination and hunger, the leopard persisted in forcefully jerking the python’s body, eventually succeeding.
Photographer Villiers Steyn captured the struggle of the leopard in photographs taken in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve within Kruger National Park, South Africa, in early January.
“We heard about a dead python in a tree, so we decided to check it out that morning and found a male leopard feeding on the python. I have never seen a leopard and a python together before. After dragging the carcass away to avoid other predators, the leopard finished its meal in a relaxed and quiet manner,” shared Steyn.
