This Canadian artist uses materials including wood, dried mushrooms, seashells, and more to create works of art.

Talented Canadian artist Debra Bernier creates exquisite sculptures out of driftwood and other natural materials including seashells, dried mushrooms, roots, bones, crystals, and so much more. The artist claims that the sea, the earth, and even the moon, with their influence on the tides, have a role in shaping the wood that floats on the seas. Because of this, the screenwriter sees herself just as a collaborator on her creations. Through her crafts, she hopes to share the secret history and meaning of the wood. Her intention is to draw attention to the closeness that huɱaпs have to the natural world.
