For over two decades, Kabu dedicated her strength in a mountain village, tirelessly carrying heavy logs up treacherous paths. Despite ѕᴜffeгіпɡ from an іпjᴜгed leg, she was compelled to continue working, leading to a progressively worsening limp as her іпjᴜгу never received proper care. In a remarkable display of compassion, Chailert and a dedicated team of volunteers embarked on a journey to the village, determined to bring Kabu back to the Elephant Nature Park, a renowned sanctuary in Thailand that provides refuge for mistreated elephants.

During the extensive 12-hour truck ride back home, the rescuers showered Kabu with care and nourishment, offering her bananas and tamarinds while gently pouring water over her body to alleviate the sweltering heat.
