Shocking Video Reveals Why Venomous Snakes Can Still Deliver Fatal Bites Even After Decapitation

The video, shared on the social media platform Reddit, depicts a decapitated rattlesnake. The owner of the clip stated that they discovered the snake in their backyard and decided to sever its head using a shovel out of concern for the safety of their family members.

Interestingly, even after being decapitated, the snake’s body continues to writhe and squirm without dying completely. In fact, when the severed head of the snake inadvertently comes into contact with its own body, it immediately delivers a deadly bite, causing the body to thrash in agony.

In 2020, a man living in Texas, USA, decapitated a rattlesnake when he found it crawling into his house. As he reached out to pick up the snake to dispose of it, the severed head bit his hand. The man was then rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but fortunately, after a week of specialized care, he was successfully saved by the doctors.
